Description:
K shine is composed of ketoconazole and prepared coal tar.This medication is used on the hair/scalp to treat dandruff and other scaly, itchy skin conditions (psoriasis or seborrheic dermatitis). Coal tar belongs to a class of drugs known as keratoplastics. It works by causing the skin to shed dead cells from its top layer and slow down the growth of skin cells. This effect decreases scaling and dryness. Coal tar can also decrease itchiness from these skin conditions.
Uses / Indications: K Shine Lotion is used in the treatment of seborrheic dermatitis.

- Pregnancy interaction:
- K Shine Lotion may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

- Avoid direct contact of cream or shampoo with your eyes. In case of direct contact, wash your eyes with water immediately and seek immediate medical attention. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding. It should not take if patient is allergic to ketoconazole or any of its ingredients.

- This medicine is for external use only. Use this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Shake it well and apply to the area evenly.

- Ketoconazole is an antifungal. It works by stopping the growth of dandruff-causing fungi by preventing them from forming their own protective covering. Coal Tar is a keratolytic medicine which helps break down the skin clumps on scalp and relieves itching and flaking associated with dandruff.
